P.W. Meyers was listed on a bill of sale for the same property 2 February 1837, and on 20 March 1838 Peter W. Meyers (5590) is called "son and heir-at-law" of George. So George apparently died between 1827-1837."

He has been leading dangerous missions for the British as the American Revolutionary War heats up. "But George decides he just can't let them go alone, and so he heads throuth the wilderness, crossing enemy lines, in search of his familly. "Flight" is the story of one United Empire Loyalst family's harrowing escape from enemy forces, to a new life in Canada."

NOTE: There is a book written about a Mary Meyers who was 19 years old in 1786, making her date of birth 1767, so it can't be Maria, but has to be this Catherine. She was also named, Mary? Anyway, the book is an historical novel so we'll say it is about "Catherin Mary". (Mildred Sussell says, "Her book is about Mary, not Catherine Mary," so we'll make this correction.) "Meyers' Creek", an historical novel written by Connie Brummel Crook, and published 1995 by Stoddart Publishing Co. Ltd., 34 Lesmill Rd, Toronto Canada M3B 2T6, paper back $7.50: "A compelling story of the true experiences of a United Empire Loyalist family during a critical period of Canadian history. "Mary Meyers is typical of any nineteen-year-old. She longs for adventure - and for freedom to live her own life. "But the year is 1786, and the realities that face newly settled United Empire Loyalsist families like Mary's are often harsh. In this continuation of the Meyers family saga that began with the author's first novel, "Flight", Mary must come to terms with danger, the survival of her family, and love."

MARRIAGE #1: From FAMILY OF JOHN WALDEN MEYERS AND MARY/POLLY GRUBER/KRUGER by Mildred (Shores) Sussell their 5th great-grand-daughter, 1988, Volume I. Perhaps late summer 1793, John R. Bleeker, widowed husband of her sister, Catherine. Family tradition says that because her father strongly opposed the marriage, they eloped to King's Town to be married there by the Rev. John Stuart, but I haven't found a marriage record. Bleeker's mother had remarried a Mr. McKenzie and lived in King's Town, so they visited there before returning home. John was not successful in preventing the marriage, and soon became reconciled to it. John Bleeker was born ca 1762 and died ca 1807. At the time of his death, in early March 1807, John had gone with a mill-wright and an Indian guide to the family work camp where he and other members of the Walden Meyers family were building a mill. They wanted to observe the height of the water so they could determine the level of the dam and mill wheel to accomodate it. He came down with a raging fever and died of pneumonia before he could return home. A raging snowstorm with freezing rain made it impossible for them to return the body to his home, so his companions buried him near the mill site.

NOTE: Mary received land 13 November 1797 (O.C.). She decided to keep the Bleeker family business, an inn and ferry services across the Trent River.

MARRIAGES: "I am suggesting 3 possible marriages for Ephraim, although Hanna Miller may have been his only wife. Census takers often erred. (MS) # 1 - perhaps before 1800; ______ ________, born ____?____,; died, perhaps before 1800. (MS) # 2 - perhaps; abt ____ ____ 18__; ______ ______, born abt 1784-1794; died perhaps between 1810-1816? (The wife in 1810 is too young to be Hannah, who was his wife by 1816, unless the census taker erred in the column in which he placed the wife.) (1810 census) (MS) # 3 - perhaps before 1816, Hannah Miller, eldest daughter of Jonathan and Lydia; born 2 November 1777; died after 1830 (1820-1830 census). Hannah is his wife by September 1816, when her father's will is probated, as she is called Hannah Garrett then. I believe that she was also his wife in 1810, and the census taker erred, as I believe their oldest son, born abt 1800-1804, is the Johathan Miller Garrett mentioned in his grandfather Miller's will. (MS) Hannah does not appear in her parent's home in 1800, so she may have been married to Ephraim by then and been absent from the house for some reason the day the census was taken. (MS) They lived in Coxsackie Town, Greene Co., NY USA, in 1800 & 1810, and in Coeymans, Albany Co., NY, in 1820 & 1830.

CHILDREN: "I do not have names for children, but I believe his family consists of the following, based on censuses:" (And these are the children enumerated with first names such as "Son, Garrett", and "Daughter, Garrett". "And I believe they had 8 children, but have no proof for it." (As yet) (MS)

Ephraim married (MRIN:1357) Hannah MILLER-2529. Hannah was born 2 Nov 1777. She died after 1830.

They had the following children:

168 F i. Daughter GARRETT-25116 was born 1795/1800.

NOTE: I, HWW, was unable to find a church reference for the baptism of his children as I was for the other of these early Waltermire families. Apparently he moved out of range of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Wurtemburg, Rhinebeck, Dutchess Co., NY USA. Because of this, there is some uncertainty as to some of the children belonging in this family. Mildred Sussell says of child # 1, "Perhaps Zachariah Waltermeyer"; and I had a "Peter E. Waltermeyer" that she doubts was a child in this family, so I have not excluded him here. She places him with her "Unidentified Waltermeyers" and I agree. She's not certain as to another child: "Perhaps Margaret Waltermeyer, born 25 Jul 1823........"

If he is this William Teal, they would be cousins."

BURIED: Methodist churchyard, Queechy Lake, T-Canaan, Columbia Co., NY USA. Cemetery known as "Queechy Cemetery".

NOTE: Doris & Herman Witthoft visited the Methodist cemetery, 27 June 1996. The church is no longer there. Probably torn down in the 1960-70's. The cemetery land is overgrown with brush and young trees. I believe that in the Fall of 1995 someone had the lot cleared, but now new growth of weeds, brush and young trees are starting to grow. It was difficult to get around, but we finally found one grave marker. It was about 3 feet high, 8 inches wide on all four sides, and it was off its base. Two names were inscribed on it. James W. Hendrix, born 1819, was very clear. I struggled, but managed to turn it over and it was difficult to read the other name. It was "Catherine, born 1821". We didn't find any other grave markers.
