Purchased of Simeon Hosmer three yoke of oxen valued at one Hundred and Sixty
Dollars the Half was the property of the said oxen belonged to the aforesaid
Simeon Hosmer and the other Half was the property of Jacob J. Klock, John
J. Klock and Daniel MacDugall and the afore said oxen was sold at the second
cost for two Hundred and four dollars the one Half is the property of the
aforesaid Simeon Hosmer and the other of the afore said Jacob J. Klock, John
J. Klock and Daniel Mac Dugall and the afore said Simeon Hosmer is to receive
the first cost of the said oxen and Half the profit upon a Note received of
Daniel Mac Mullin of Carlton Irland and if that note should fall they afore
said Jacob J. Klock, John J. Klock and Daniel Mac Dugall must bear their equal

County of Tryon and State of New York am held and firmly bound unto Gerret
A. Lansingh of Schinectady, in the County of Albany and State aforesaid in
the sum of four hundred & four pounds ten Shilling Current money of New
York in Gold or Silver to be paid to the said Gerret A. Lansingh or to his
Certain Attorney Executors Administrators or assigns which payment well and
truly to be maid I bind my Self my heirs Executors administrators Jointly
and Severally firmly by these presents sealed with my Seal Dated the twenty
forth day of february in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and
Eighty four.
THE CONDITION of this obligation is such that if the above bounded John J.
Klock his heirs Executors and administrators or any of them shall well and
truly pay or cause to be paid unto the above named Gerret A. Lansingh or to
his Certain Attorney Executors Administrators or assigns and Just and full

Cataraque, 8th August, 1785.
Dear Chosins,
I take this opportunity to inform you and your family that I and my family
are in a good state of health. Hoping that these few lines may find you and
your family in the same state of health as they have found us. I did expect
to come and see you this fall, but as I am going on my land tomorrow, and
have some help to help me now, I will have no time this fall to come and see
you. I want son about five or six Schipple of wood which is a very scharse
article here. I wish that you would send me by the bearer herof F. Coyes Staley
three schipple of wood and one schipple of roy and tell him the price thereof
and I shall send you the money by the first safe hand and besides be much
obliged to you for so doing. So no more at present but remember me to your
father and mother, little Jacob's family, Henry Klock and Familey and the
highest man there, Esq. Nellis and family and inquiring, so no more, but I
and my family includes our best compliments to you and your familey.
And remain your friend,

P. S. You will tell Mr. Anguish to deliver the ax that he stolen from me at

the said John J. Klock and Eva McDougall or to either of their Heirs Executors
Administrators or assigns. For which payment I bind myself my Heirs Executors
& Administrators and every of them firmly by these presents. Sealed with
my Seal dated this Seventh Day of March in the Year of our Lord One thousand
seven hundred and Eighty Six. The condition of this Obligation is such that
if the above bound Jacob J. Klock shall well and truly pay on the said Eva
McDougalls delivering up to the said Jacob J. Klock a certain joint Note given

THIS INDENTURE made the first Day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand
seven hundred and Eighty Seven Between Johannes

yeoman of the one part and Johannes Klock Junior of the same place yeoman
of the other part Witnesseth that the said Johannes Klock for and in consideration
of the sum of three hundred pounds current money of New York to him in hand
paid by the said Johannes Klock Junior at and before the Ensealing and delivery
hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged he the said Johannes Klock
Hath granted bargained sold aliened remissed released and confirmed and by
these presents Doth grant bargain Sell Alien remise release and confirm unto
the said Johannes Klock Junior in his actual possession and Seizer now being
by Virtue of a bargain and sale to him thereof made for one whole year by
Indenture bearing date the day next before the date of these presents and
by force of the Law for transferring of uses into Possession and to his heirs
and assigns forever All those Certain tracts or parcels of land Situate lying
and being in Palentine District in the County aforesaid on the North East
side of the Mohawk river in a Pattent heretofore Granted to Abraham Windel

bought from John Duncan (Excepting out of the above two Parcels of Land a
free wagon road for him the said Johannes Klock and his assigns true the Length
of the same where it may be tought Proper without Damage) Together with all
and Singular the houses outhouses Barns Stables Orchards wood Trees timbers
Standing or growing on the same with all and Singular the hereditaments and
appartenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversion
and Reversions remainder and remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof and
all the Estate Right title Interest Profit Property claim & Demand whatsoever
of him the said Johannes Klock of in and to the hereby granted Premises or
any part or Parcel thereof (Excepting as above) TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the hereby
granted Parcels of Land Island and premises above mentioned with all and Singular
the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said Johannes Klock Junior
his heirs and assigns to the sole and only proper use benefit and behoof of
him the said Johannes Klock Junior his heirs and assigns forever and also
free Liberty for him the said Johannes Klock Junior his heirs and assigns
of a wagon road true the Length of the remainder of said Lott No. Eleven where
it may be tought necessary without Damage And the said Johannes Klock Doth
hereby covenant grant and agree to and with the said Johannes Klock Junior
his heirs and assigns that the hereby granted Land and premises are free and

Sir: I am to acquaint you that I arrived here safe, and found my Cattle here
before me. You may depend their is no trade here at prescot--either in Cattle
or Horse, as the people are daily coming in, who trust them out, or sells
them for paper Money, should I find out their is any likelyhood of your making
any thing yu may depend on me givin you notice. Mrs. Nelless joins with me,
in Compliments to Mrs. Clock and family. P. S. You will pease to make my Compliments
to all my friends & must desire you to write to me by the first or every
opportunity you can & you may expect the same from me.

Sir: You Desird me to let you know what Comodity would be best for Trafick
in this Country but I cant recommend to you to bring anything here for Sail
as we have Bread Sufficient here for this year and Cash is Scarce here now
so that if you were to bring horses or Cows or any thing else for Sale you
might Sell them But you would be hard Set to get the ready Money as there
is little money in the place them oxen that Warner brought up Last year is
not Sold yet So that you may See by that that money is
